Tommy Johnson

Tommy brings a lot of character to the group as he has many different layers of personality. His different personalities might come from all he juggles in the community of Lincoln working with youth and continuing the bond through their adult life. He is the Girls Varsity Basketball Head Coach at Lincoln North Star. He has been a program changer while currently starting his 4th year. In just his second season he led his team to the State Tournament for the first time in school history while breaking the record for most wins in a season. In his 3rd season he coached a 20-6 team to thier first state win in school history. After he leaves North Star, his basketball day is not finished as he runs an AAU program called VRLY Storm, with 20 teams and over 180+ kids participating. His tank is always full, bringing all the energy when he enters the gym as our COG Basketball Training Director. He has an undeniable love for kids in the community and puts it on full display day in and day out. He always says basketball is his ministry and calling in life to reach a magnitude of kids.

Joyce Johnson

Joyce Johnson is a current sophomore varsity girls basketball starter at Lincoln North Star High School. She is truly the biggest reason COG Basketball Training even exist. She began playing basketball when she was in 3rd grade. As she grew older, she became tremendously passionate and knowledgeable of the game. She was a kid that would take her basketball with her wherever she went and now her basketball is taking her places. Her home away from home is the COG Basketball Training Gym where she has the opportunity see kids that are just like she was when she was their age. She does an excellent job instructing group and individual training sessions. She also coaches a youth AAU team all year round practicing twice a week and 3-5 games every other weekend. She does all of this on top of being an amazing student and varsity high school basketball. She is truly the light that made COG Basketball Training and we love having her as one of our Directors.
